The Whiplash Associated Disorders seminar, presented by Dr Rob Schütze and Professor Peter O’Sullivan will present an overview of current evidence around the management of WAD and back pain. In particular, it will describe a current clinical trial, funded by the Insurance Commission of WA, for those at high risk of delayed recovery from crash-related neck or back pain.
Based on the biopsychosocial Cognitive Functional Therapy model of care, this is a patient-centred, individualised treatment led by physiotherapists and integrated with collaborative care from psychologists and GPs using a common clinical reasoning framework. This workshop will provide case studies and opportunities for collaborative learning through discussion.
